What is a Doula?
"Doula" stems from the ancient Greek word meaning "a woman who
serves," and is now used to refer to a trained, experienced and
certified professional
who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to
moms-to-be before, during and after child birth. It is also been defined as a person who bestows emotional and
practical support during the postpartum period.
Studies have proven that with doulas attending births, labor tends to
be shorter with
fewer complications, babies are healthier, and breastfeeding comes easier.
Role of a Doula
- Recognizes birth as a key experience the mother will remember all her life.
- Understands the physiology of birth and the emotional needs of a woman in labor.
- Assists the woman in preparing for and carrying out her plans for birth.

Every Blissful Mommy receives the following:
•An initial free consultation to get to know each other.
•2 meetings with the Doula to discuss and create your birth plan and
practice techniques to be use.
•24-hour phone assistance around the estimate date of birth.
•Professional labor support at your chosen birthing site.

Our Fees
•Doula Services - $ 800. There is a deposit of 50% due when you decide to
hire us, with the remaining balance due by your 36th week of pregnancy.
